While coronavirus impacted Brooke and Gabe‘s original Chicago wedding plans they didn’t let it stop them from becoming husband and wife this past July! They moved their ceremony from the Odyssey River Boat cruising the Chicago River to the Chicago Yacht Club right on Lake Michigan and were pronounced husband and wife as the sun set glowed reflected off of the water.
The morning of their wedding started with Brooke, her two sisters and her stepmom getting ready downtown at the Radisson Blu. Brooke wore a chic, sophisticated silk slip dress with her hair in a low chignon and a delicate cathedral length veil. After toasting with glasses of veuve, we headed out to meet up with Gabe so she could see her groom for the first time on their wedding day! They shared a beautiful first look at the Civic Theatre and then we took photos in a few special places around Chicago. Even though the city was quieter than normal and some streets were still pretty boarded up, the energy from the city was still palpable and so inspiring! After wrapping up bride & groom portraits, we headed over to the yacht club for the ceremony. Brooke’s Dad walked her down the aisle to a waiting Gabe and after exchanging vows and placing rings on each other’s fingers, they shared a kiss under a stunning greenery arch and were pronounced husband and wife. After mingling with their guests at cocktail hour, everyone moved into the beautiful marquee tent right along the edge of Lake Michigan featuring a stunning hanging greenery light installation. Brooke’s dad & Gabe’s mom, as well as a few other special people, toasted to the newlyweds from under the warm glow of the tent as the city skyline twinkled behind them. It was a perfect day from start to finish and I’m so happy I was able to celebrate with these two!!
Brook & Gabe, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day! It has been a pleasure getting to know the both of you over the past year and I hope you love & cherish these photos for years to come! Wishing you both a lifetime of love & happiness! Much love, Jen. xx
