Calsey & Ken were married at the end of October at a beautiful ceremony at the historic Ste. Anne de Detroit church in Detroit followed by a gorgeous tented Grosse Pointe War Memorial wedding reception out on their back lawn. Even though the July Colony Club wedding they dreamed of had to change shape, plan B was just perfect & so beautifully done!! Ines & Marie designed a beautiful dusty rose hued reception with smilax and bistro lights draped from above and a stunning watercolor cake from Bella e Dolce shined in the center! Studio Terrain designed exquisite, unstructured floral arrangements that tied everything together!
The wedding day started at the Westin Book Cadillac downtown where Ken & Calsey got ready with their wedding party! Calsey’s mom & bridesmaids helped her into her dress and my favorite moment of the morning was the sweet first look Calsey shared with her dad & the tears he shed upon seeing her in her dress for the first time. After capturing photos of Ken & his groomsmen downtown, we headed to the War Memorial to photograph Calsey & her bridal party on the iconic back steps of the estate! Their ceremony took place at one of the most beautiful, historic churches in Detroit, the Ste. Anne de Detroit and after they were pronounced husband & wife, they excited the church to cheers from their bridal party & family members!! After capturing some bride & groom photos of them in front of the church’s beautiful arched doors as the sun set, it was time to head to the War Memorial to continue the celebration!
Calsey & Ken, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day! It has been such an honor to get to know you both, from your DIA engagement photos with the cutest coffee date after to your beautiful wedding day! Wishing you both a lifetime of love & happiness!!! Much love, Jen. xx
