DeeDee & Gerald were married in the evening surround by all of their family and friends with the glow of golden candle light illuminating them. DeeDee & Gerald met at the University of Michigan, but now call Baltimore home, and most of their family and friends had traveled by plane to be there. DeeDee’s mom walked her down the aisle lined with hurricane vase after hurricane vase of candles. Gerald was waiting at the end for her and after wiping the tears from his eyes, took her into his arms. Their adorable pup served as a flower girl and everyone clapped and cheered as they were pronounced husband and wife.
The morning of their wedding started at the Inn at St. John’s where DeeDee and her bridesmaids got ready in their beautiful 2 story presidential suite. DeeDee’s bridesmaids all took turns getting pampered in the morning between the masseuse in the suite giving back and neck massages and hopping in the hair and make-up chairs. Once everyone was finished, DeeDee’s two Maids of Honor helped her into her lace adorned white dress and her mom secured her cathedral length veil in her hair. A vintage silver Rolls Royce was waiting out front to take DeeDee & her mom to Planterra Conservatory where Gerald was waiting for his bride and their first look. The Rolls Royce pulled up and after her mom excited, DeeDee walked over to her husband to be and tapped him on the shoulder! Gerald had a reaction of pure joy & elation on his face seeing his stunning bride. After we wrapped up portraits of the two of them as dusk was settling in the sky, we headed inside to take bridal party portraits! I couldn’t resist photographing the stunning reception set-up at Planterra when we first got there and again during cocktail hour because while it was just beautiful in the daylight, it became truly magical in the evening lit up by twinkling lights and soft candlelight!
Before toasts began, DeeDee changed into her reception dress and it was a stunner! I was obsessed with how it looked like she had flowers floating over her entire body! DeeDee and Gerald had their Maid of Honor and Best Man give speeches along with DeeDee’s brother and Gerald’s sister! There were so many sweet moments and a few tearful and tender ones too! After sharing their first dance, everyone headed outside for their sparkler exit, before guests headed back inside to dance the night away!
DeeDee & Gerald, thank you so much for trusting me to document this magical day for the two of you! It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you both this past year and I hope you LOVE and cherish these photographs for decades to come!! Much love & GO BLUE, Jen. xx
