I am so excited to finally share this New York City engagement session today! Caitlin and Andrew booked me for their wedding next year and when they heard I was going to be in NYC in November they asked if I could stay an extra night and photograph their engagement session in the city! I think it took me two seconds to reply back, “YES!!!” When Caitlin first moved to NYC after college, she took a job waitressing at a local restaurant while she was searching for a job in her field in her new hometown. Andrew was friends with several of her coworkers and would stop in the restaurant often. Their first date was walking along a pier, talking and getting to know each other (and Andrew later brought it full circle and proposed to Caitlin on this exact same pier). As their relationship grew, they spent a lot of time strolling through Central Park and sitting on their favorite bench talking. When Caitlin and I were brainstorming locations for their session and she told me how special of a place Central Park was to them, it made perfect sense to do Central Park engagement photos! I met up with the two of them a few weeks ago at Bethesda Terrace on a surprisingly warm early November day! The sun was shining and the park was packed with all of the runners in town for the marathon the next day! We had fun walking around the park and over to Conservatory Waters to see the kids sailing model boats. Caitlin and Andrew, thank you for allowing me to capture your engagement photos in a place so meaningful to you and I can’t wait for the wedding!! xx.
Most days you'll find me sitting at my kitchen counter, clad in a mix of J.Crew and Zara (in neutral colors, of course), pouring my heart into this business of mine while dancing along to my latest Spotify playlist and sipping on a cup of hot tea. I'm an award-winning, published wedding photographer that is obsessed with all things classic and elegant. I'm a former California girl, but a true Midwesterner at heart. I love warm hugs, live music and getting texts from my brides that they cried when they saw their wedding photos!! I live for mornings on my yoga mat and green juice after. Among friends, I'm known for never missing an episode of The Bachelor on Monday nights, overusing exclamation points, and disliking coffee (but loving coffee shops)!
