Oh my goodness friends, you are in for a treat today with this stunning NYC wedding! Last month, I flew out to the East Coast to photograph Nicole and Alan’s New York City wedding at Marina Del Rey Caterers in the Bronx. Nicole is the younger sister of my good friend Courtney and I was so excited when she reached out to me earlier this year about photographing her wedding! I have known her and her family for years and it was so good to see them all again and catch up! From the moment I arrived at Nicole’s apartment that morning, the day was just filled with so much joy! Her bridesmaids were a blast and I had so much fun with them photographing Nicole getting ready! Just wait until you see how stunning she looked in her Maggie Sottero dress and her cathedral length veil! She had a massive window in her bedroom and sheer drapes and the photos of her standing in front of it in her trumpet dress are some of my favorites from the day! After leaving the girls, I headed over to meet the guys at St. Clement of Rome Church in Stamford, CT where the ceremony was taking place. As Nicole walked down the aisle with her Dad, she cried as soon as she saw Alan standing at the altar waiting for her and it was one of my favorite moments of the day! After a beautiful ceremony, we caught the tail end of sunset for bride and groom photos before heading over to NYC for the reception! I had never photographed a New York wedding before, but one of the traditions there during receptions is that the dancing starts right away and continues in between each course of the meal that is served! I loved it! It was such a fun way to keep the energy going throughout the night and it gave guests a chance to move in between eating all of the delicious food that kept coming out of the kitchen! This day was special not just for Nicole and Alan, but also for Nicole’s parents who they now share a wedding anniversary with! After Nicole and Alan cut their cake, they brought out a special anniversary cake for her parents to cut as well and Nicole gave them a teary eyed toast thanking them for everything they have done for her over the years. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room and, of course, I teared up too!! Nicole and Alan, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day and welcoming me in with such open arms! I hope you love your photos!! xx, Jen
Most days you'll find me sitting at my kitchen counter, clad in a mix of J.Crew and Zara (in neutral colors, of course), pouring my heart into this business of mine while dancing along to my latest Spotify playlist and sipping on a cup of hot tea. I'm an award-winning, published wedding photographer that is obsessed with all things classic and elegant. I'm a former California girl, but a true Midwesterner at heart. I love warm hugs, live music and getting texts from my brides that they cried when they saw their wedding photos!! I live for mornings on my yoga mat and green juice after. Among friends, I'm known for never missing an episode of The Bachelor on Monday nights, overusing exclamation points, and disliking coffee (but loving coffee shops)!
