Joe was standing on the private terrace of his Bowery Hotel room in New York City and as Nicole walked out of the black metal french doors to go see her groom for the first time on their wedding day, she was giddy with excitement! The morning had been a flurry of activity: hair & make-up at the couple’s row house in the heart of Hoboken, an Uber ride into the city followed by Nicole’s mom and sister helping her into her sleek and stunning Pronovias dress from Kleinfeld Bridal in her suite at the Bowery. Her parents & Joe’s parents peered out from behind the beautiful glass door as Nicole walked up to Joe & he turned around to see his bride! After a big hug and a twirl from Nicole to show off her dress, Joe popped open a bottle of champagne that the Bowery had graciously left in their room and the couple shared a celebratory drink together just the two of them! It was such a cool way to end the first look and lick off the start of their wedding day together!
We headed out the front doors of the hotel for portraits and it was surprisingly warm for a New York City wedding in February! We walked around a bit taking some iconic New York City street portraits (complete with yellow cabs & the hustle & bustle of the city in the back, which is my FAVORITE)! There’s something magical about photographing on city streets. Two people wrapped up in their own little love bubble oblivious to the world around them moving at a frantic pace. It’s kinda poetic if you think about it!
Nicole and Joe’s Bowery Hotel wedding took place in the Bowery’s Terrace, a stunning space complete with black steel windows, warm candlelight, Moroccan tiled floors and a green glazed fireplace with a wood fire burning. It provided such an intimate and romantic atmosphere as Nicole and Joe exchanged vows and placed their wedding bands upon each others fingers. After they were pronounced husband and wife and everyone cheered, guests headed out to cocktail hour, where a stunning display of seafood hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails awaited them!! Their Bowery Hotel Wedding was catered by Gemma, the signature restaurant at the hotel, and guests sat at long floral lined farmhouse tables lit only by the warm glow of the chandeliers and flickering candlelight. The bride & groom mingled with their guests before Joe’s brother, his Best Man, and Nicole’s sister, her Maid of Honor, gave sweet speeches to the new bride & groom.
Sound Society got the dance party started after dinner and the band had everyone out on the dance floor!! As the party went one, the Bowery Hotel brought out mini strawberry milkshakes to guests as late night fuel as the party continued! It was a magical dance from beginning to end and I was so honored to be the one to document it! I hope these images take you right back to this special day every time you look at them in the years to come.
Nicole & Joe, it’s been such a pleasure getting to know you both!! From a crazy windy Hoboken engagement photos, to part two with Soho engagement photos and now your beautiful Bowery Hotel wedding, it’s been a blast!! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness!!! Much love, Jen. xx
