Isabella & Jack’s private estate wedding just outside of Detroit was my first full day wedding back after COVID shut down events earlier this year. These two were originally planning a Detroit Athletic Club wedding and after postponing to next May, they decided instead of waiting to pivot again and move the reception outdoors at Isabella’s parents estate and get married on their original wedding date. They invited a little under 100 of their closest family & friends to witness their marriage in accordance with the current government gathering orders and had a perfect day from beginning to end.
The morning started at Isabella’s parent’s estate, with it’s rolling hills & lush greenery. Isabella’s mom helped her get into her beautiful dress (I’m obsessed with the bows down the back) and her flower girl snuck into the room at one point to say hi & admire her dress. She had her mom’s iPhone in hand & said she needed a photo of the bride! It was so adorable watching her take her photo and one of my favorite moments of the day! Meanwhile, Jack was just outside getting ready with his groomsmen. Once everyone was ready, it was time to head over to the historic Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit for their wedding ceremony.
Isabella’s dad walked her down the stunning black and white checked marble aisle and Jack was in tears watching his soon to be wife walk towards him. I always peek back at the groom when the bride walks down the aisle and those photos of Jack are some of my favorites from the entire day! After exchanging vows & rings, these two exited the church to a vintage Packard car from Motor City Vintage Rentals! We headed over to the Detroit Institute of Arts for portraits and I swear you cannot beat the back facade of the museum with a classic car in front of it! Two Detroit icons for sure!
Meanwhile, guests gathered at the estate for cocktail hour where they sipped on the couple’s signature drinks, Old Fashions & Aperol Spritzs. Jennie at Beautiful Day Planning designed the most beautiful, elegant white draped tented reception for them complete with modern orb chandeliers, stunning pink & red blooms from Bellisario and beautiful black & light wood X back chairs. Guests dined on a feast of lobster while donning the couples signature “marriage is messy” bibs while the newlyweds were toasted. Afterwards, Jack & Isabella shared their first dance before making their sparkler exit!
Isabella & Jack, thank you so much for trusting me to tell the story of your day. From a fun evening in Bloomington, Indiana for your Indiana University engagement photos to your beautiful Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament wedding, it has been such a joy to get to know the both of two! Wishing you all of the love & happiness in the world as you start your journey together as husband & wife! Much love, Jen. xx
