I don’t even know where to begin with this one other than to say Abby & Mike’s Planterra Conservatory wedding was amazing in every way possible! Abby & Mike met while in school at Michigan State and even though they now live in Chicago, they headed back to their home state to exchange vows in front of all of their family and friends! Abby wore the most stunning lace and tulle Tony Ward gown with an amazing chapel train from Kleinfeld Bridal and Mike’s gift to Abby was an incredible pair of Christian Louboutin heels! Mike wore a custom navy checked tuxedo jacket with black lapels that elevated the style game and his groomsmen were all in blue tuxes as well. Planterra Conservatory was decked out in all of the greenery, with strands of it running down the length of the farmhouse tables Abby & Mike had for their guests to dine at accented with white anemone’s and white peonies that popped off of all the green! Light wood x back chairs and golden candelabras completed the look! It was such an elegant and elevated way to do a garden inspired celebration and I loved it!
My favorite part though of Abby & Mike’s wedding day was all of the emotion they and their guests shared. Mike’s mom walked him down the aisle to where he would wait for Abby and tears kept falling from her eyes as her son waited to marry Abby. When Abby’s mom walked he down the aisle, Mike couldn’t blink back his tears anymore and had probably one of my favorite reactions ever to seeing his bride. Their ceremony was filled with moist eyes and wiping away tears between Abby & Mike and also their family and friends in the first few rows. It was also filled with lots of laughter as they exchanged vows and rings! Abby’s dad had taken a fall and ended up in the hospital the day before their wedding and Abby’s family FaceTimed him during the ceremony so he could still watch his daughter get married. One of my favorite parts of their day was right after the ceremony when Abby was wiping back tears saying hi to her dad on FaceTime after just being married!
After sneaking outside during cocktail hour for portraits in Planterra‘s gorgeous garden with perfectly manicured hedges, Abby’s mom kicked off the speeches taking over the Father of the Bride speech followed by Abby’s sister and Mike’s Best Man who had everyone laughing. Once dinner was over, the party got started and Bluewater Kings Band had the dance floor rocking all night long!
Abby & Mike, thank you so much for trusting me to capture this very special day in your lives. It was such a pleasure to get to know you both and I hope you absolutely love and cherish all these images and the memories of your wedding day that they bring back!! Wishing you all the love & happiness in the world! Much love, Jen. xx
