Sam & Marina’s wedding day started downtown at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center! Marina’s mom and sister helped her into her beautiful beaded mermaid dress from Allesandra Bridal and Sam’s dad and future brother-in-law helped him into his tux and straightened his bow-tie. There was rain in the forecast, but other than a few drops on our way to the first look, it stayed away long enough for us to capture all of their bride & groom portraits!
When Sam turned around and saw Marina for the first time on their wedding day, he had the biggest smile on his face! He has one of those infectious smiles and I’m pretty sure he didn’t stop smiling the entire day!! Instead of having a wedding party, Sam & Marina just had adorable flower girls take part in their wedding day! Despite being camera shy, they were so sweet and even wanted to help fluff out Marina’s dress for portraits! Sam & Marina wanted to take all of their family portraits before the ceremony at the same spot we were taking bride & groom portraits so they would have a beautiful backdrop for them which I loved!! After portraits, everyone headed over to the church where Marina’s dad escorted her down the aisle to where Sam was waiting and handed her off to him to become his wife. One of my favorite parts of their wedding day was seeing all of the younger girls at the wedding crowd into the front row & just look in awe at the wedding ceremony! You could tell they were so excited to be at a wedding & witness a bride and groom getting married!
The party got started in the early evening at the Palazzo Grande where everyone cheered to welcome the new Mr & Mrs and immediately crowded onto the dance floor for one big party!! There were drummers on the dance floor, Sam was tossed into the air and everyone had a blast dancing before they sat down to dinner!!
Sam & Marina, thank you so much for trusting me to be the one to capture your wedding day!! I hope looking back at these photographs over the years brings you right back to each and every moment and that you cherish them in the decades to come!!! Wishing you both a beautiful lifetime together!! Much love, Jen. xx
