Jennifer & Ryan were married the first weekend in October at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Downtown Detroit that features a long aisle with ornate detailing in the floors! Catholic Churches with long aisles are some of my favorites because they really add to the anticipation & excitement of guests seeing the bride for the first time on her wedding day!! Jennifer & Ryan’s day was no different! As Jennifer was walking down the aisle to Ryan with her dad, I could see her mom getting emotional out of the corner of my eye. After Jennifer’s dad handed her off to Ryan, vows were spoken, rings were exchanged and these two were pronounced husband and wife!!
Earlier in the day, Jennifer & Ryan did a first look and I just love the sweet smile that appeared on Ryan’s face when he saw Jennifer for the first time!! First looks are always one of my favorite moments on a wedding day to witness behind my camera!! We took portraits in Downtown Detroit before the wedding party met up with us to finish up. We did an Annie Leibovitz style Vanity Fair portrait of the wedding party on the steps and they absolutely nailed it!! Before the reception started at the Atheneum Suite Hotel in Greektown with Simply Brilliant Events, we snuck up to their amazing roof with 360 degree views of Detroit for sunset portraits with the Detroit skyline in the back!!
After a round of speeches spearheaded by Jennifer’s sisters & Ryan’s twin brothers that had everyone laughing, dinner was served before everyone took to the dance floor to party the night away!!
Jennifer & Ryan, it was such a pleasure getting to know both of you & your incredible families!!! I hope you both love these photographs and every time you look at them you’re taken back to that very moment on your wedding day!! Wishing you both all the love in the world!!! Much love, Jen. xx
