Happy Friday friends! You’re in luck today, because there’s a DOUBLE DOSE of pretty on my blog! Sagar & Emily had not one, but TWO, Dearborn Inn weddings on their wedding day! Sagar is Indian, so he wanted to have a traditional Indian wedding ceremony and Emily grew up dreaming about wearing a beautiful white dress as she walked down the aisle at her wedding. So they came up with a compromise and had a full day of wedding celebrations for their guests! The celebration kicked off at 10 AM with the baraat, the parade where Sagar and his family and friends made their way to the ceremony to be received by Emily’s family. It was only fitting that the vehicle that drove Sagar around the grounds of The Dearborn Inn (which was built by Henry Ford & designed by Albert Kahn, for all you architecture lovers out there) for the baraat was a beautiful Model T. The baraat was fun and festive, with music, drums and lots of dancing! From there, they proceeded into the Alexandria Ballroom at the Dearborn Inn and Sagar & Emily were married in a traditional Indian ceremony. After a quick lunch, Sagar & Emily and most of their guests changed outfits and they had a gorgeous, traditional outdoor wedding ceremony on the lawn! It was such a cool merging of cultures and their guests got to witness them promising forever to each other not just once, but twice, before the party started at the reception!! If you love ballrooms, The Dearborn Inn is such a gorgeous venue for weddings and I seriously swoon every time I walk in there and see the gorgeous black and white marble floor and the ornate chandelier! I swear, Henry Ford had the BEST taste and built some of my favorite wedding venues (Lovett Hall is on the grounds of the Henry Ford Museum).
Emily & Sagar, thank you for allowing me to capture both of your amazing wedding celebrations! It was a day full of love and family and I was thrilled to be a part of it. I hope you love and cherish the photos from both of your wedding celebrations forever!
