Lauren & John’s love story was a long time in the making. They were engaged for four years and a few weekends ago, they were pronounced husband and wife in the outdoor garden at Lovett Hall! Lauren’s dad walked her down the aisle to John, who wiped tears from his eyes throughout the ceremony. As they walked, Lauren’s younger sister played the violin as a string quartet backed her up. Lauren is very artistic and during the ceremony, her & John completed a small painting together instead of lighting a unity candle or combining sand, which I loved. It was such a unique way to put their own personal touch on their wedding day!
One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look inside the library at Lovett Hall. The moment John saw Lauren his eyes lit up and then filled with tears at seeing his beautiful bride for the first time. After twirling her around to see the full dress, we walked over to the Henry Ford Museum to take portraits inside. I know I say this every time I’m at Lovett Hall, but the baby blue two story staircase inside the museum is just about my favorite thing ever! I’m obsessed with the portraits we were able to create there and the way that Lauren & John were looking at each other in all of them! You could really feel the love emanating off of the two of them!!
My other favorite moment of the day was as we were coming back inside after sneaking off for sunset portraits. Lauren has such a happy & joyful personality, and that, along with a dress that was made for spinning around in, started twirling around through the foyer of Lovett Hall on her way back into the ballroom and I just happened to catch her with my camera as she passed right under a chandelier. The photo just radiates excitement and happiness and it was one of those little unplanned moments that adds so much to the story of their wedding day!
Lauren & John, I’ve loved getting to know you both over the past few years! From meeting at Laura & Curtis’s Lovett Hall wedding, to your engagement session & now your own Lovett Hall wedding, it’s been such an honor to be along for the ride with you both!! Wishing you a lifetime of love & happiness!! Much love, Jen. xx
