Patrick and Alaina were married the Saturday before Christmas in downtown Detroit and it was the perfect mix of timeless with a few fun Christmas touches thrown in! The morning of their wedding started at Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. This is one of my favorite downtown Detroit hotels for getting ready! The suites are so big and they have floor to ceiling windows with gorgeous black frames! You cannot beat it for getting ready portraits! Alaina chose a classic black and white color scheme (joking with me that morning that she was inspired by my Instagram aesthetic) with pops of burgundy in the bridesmaids dresses and florals! After Alaina and her bridesmaids popped a bottle of bubbly on the bed and had a celebratory cheers, her mom and sister helped button her in to her stunning Martina Liana dress from Bella Bridal. The lace train on it was just incredible! Meanwhile, Patrick and his groomsmen were in another suite at the hotel, where he got dressed and wrote out the vows he would recite later in the day to his beautiful fiancé as they were pronounced husband and wife.
After a tearful first look with Alaina and her dad, we headed out to the Detroit Institute of Arts for Alaina & Patrick’s first look. The moment they first say each other was full of so much joy and it was one of my favorite moments of the entire day!! We took portraits around the DIA and then headed over to the Rattlesnake Club for the ceremony! Patrick and Alaina read their handwritten vows to each other and once they were pronounced husband and wife, celebrated all the way down the aisle!!
Santa made an appearance during cocktail hour to kick off the reception and after a few emotional speeches that had everyone wiping their eyes and Alaina & Patrick’s first dance accompanied by a live saxophone on the dance floor, the party got started and the dancing did. not. stop!!
Alaina & Patrick, it’s been such a joy to get to know you both over the past year! From your beautiful Wright & Company engagement session (that appeared on M Live!!!), and now celebrating your wedding day, I’m so glad you trusted me to capture such important moments in your lives!! Wishing you both a lifetime of love & happiness!! Much love, Jen. xx
