Mary & Matt are celebrating their one year anniversary this month & I was so excited when Mary reached out to me and asked me to continue capturing their journey as husband and wife with first anniversary photos!! It’s always so special when I get to stay a part of my couples lives after the wedding day, whether through anniversary photos, maternity photos, family photos, or even becoming friends and hanging out with them. My brides & grooms are all so amazing and people I genuinely want to be around, so it’s often times sad leaving the wedding after spending the last 12-18 months before the wedding getting to know them! The morning we had planned for their sunrise anniversary session ended up being drizzly & gray, but Mary was still game to do outdoor photos and make the best of the weather! We met up at Cafe Brauer at the Lincoln Park Zoo and I just love how the rainy morning fog popped against the warm lights of Cafe Brauer!! We wandered around the zoo’s Nature Boardwalk snapping photos and the rain even stopped near the end of the session! It was so good seeing these two again and I’m so excited that they’ll have these photographs forever to document year one of marriage in the books!
