Most days you'll find me sitting at my kitchen counter, clad in a mix of J.Crew and Zara (in neutral colors, of course), pouring my heart into this business of mine while dancing along to my latest Spotify playlist and sipping on a cup of hot tea. I'm an award-winning, published wedding photographer that is obsessed with all things classic and elegant. I'm a former California girl, but a true Midwesterner at heart. I love warm hugs, live music and getting texts from my brides that they cried when they saw their wedding photos!! I live for mornings on my yoga mat and green juice after. Among friends, I'm known for never missing an episode of The Bachelor on Monday nights, overusing exclamation points, and disliking coffee (but loving coffee shops)!
CLASSIC PHOTOGRAPHY FOR THE NATURALLY ELEGANT BRIDE
It was a gorgoeus fall day in early November when I met up with the VanBuskirk family at Kensington Metropark to take their family photos! We found some great areas to take their portraits at and I just loved how the light was reflecting off the lake!
Earlier this Summer I met up with Kristel & Zakary on the University of Michigan’s campus (My alma mater! Go Blue!) for a couples photography session. Kristel’s boyfriend, Zakary, is in the military and he was home on leave for a few days and she wanted some photos taken of the two of them.
I was so happy when Kaitlin asked me to take maternity portraits of her. We grew up around the block from each other, but didn’t meet until Freshman year of high school. Once we discovered we lived so close to each other, we were pretty inseparable in the summers!
Emily and I were driving to a park in the Sterling Heights area for her senior session when I spotted the prettiest wildflower field flooded with soft morning light! I may have screamed “pull over, pull over,” a few times in my excitement and I’m so glad I did!
My sister and I started a new tradition this past year to celebrate our birthday’s as they’re only a day apart! We decided we would go somewhere to celebrate and have an experience verse buying each other gifts. This year we chose to spend a long weekend in Chicago and it did not disappoint!
