I was so excited to meet up with Lauren & John recently in Detroit to take their Detroit Institute of Arts engagement photos! John was actually a groomsman in Curtis & Laura’s wedding last year at Lovett Hall and I’m so excited to photograph their Lovett Hall wedding next June!

I met up with Angie & Cameron recently in their hometown for their Chicago engagement session! Angie picked the Field Museum and it was such a perfect backdrop for their photos. Not only is it built from the most beautiful marble and has gorgeous sprawling front & back steps that reminded me of the MET, but it also sits right on the water, making it the perfect spot to get a mix of classic architecture & the Chicago skyline with Lake Michigan in front of it!

Happy Tuesday friends! Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend! I’m so excited to share Annie & Kevin’s engagement session today because they are actually getting married next Labor Day Weekend! This set of engagement photos is definitely one of my new favorites.

As much as I love my favorite spots in the city for engagement sessions, I love when my couples come up with cool, unique locations for their photos that haven’t been done before and are special to them! When Emily asked how I felt about the Detroit Zoo, I immediately said, “YES”!

I had so much fun adventuring around the streets of Detroit with Isabelle & Andrew. It was raining sideways right before our session but thankfully the rain stopped just in time to get some amazing photographs! Isabelle loves my portraits downtown in the streets with the city as the backdrop and I was so excited to be able to create some for her and Andrew!!
