After the ruling came down in Michigan that legalized same sex marriage, Melissa took Kayla out to dinner to celebrate. What Kayla didn’t know was that Melissa had a surprise up her sleeve! With their closest family and friends surrounding them at the table, Melissa proposed to Kayla over pizza! She said yes and these two tied the knot at the end of October at Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor on a warm, sunny Fall day! From the moment I met with Melissa and Kayla earlier this year over coffee to hear all about their wedding plans, I knew their wedding would be full of love and laughter and it did not disappoint! The weather was literally perfect for their outdoor ceremony and there were so many fun moments and so many emotional moments during their day! Kayla, who wore the most beautiful blush colored lace wedding dress, cried when she saw Melissa standing at the altar waiting for her and it was one of the sweetest moments of the day. The toasts that their maids of honors gave were really sweet too. My favorite moment of the night though was when Kayla and her Dad were having their father/daughter dance. About halfway through the song, they brought Melissa in to dance with them! Let me tell you, I was blinking back the tears behind my camera!!
